INTERMEDIATE II
(suggested ages: 12-13 and up)
Provides a culmination of the three previous units; connecting the exercises and concepts of preceding lessons.

  • Exercises use multiple planes of movement with various types of resistance
  • Training concepts are expanded, simple muscle anatomy is explained
  • Involvement of balance and stability in exercise increases; further examples of using specific balance implements are provided
  • Makes greater use of combination exercises; introduces complex and single joint movements
  • Offers a “challenge” exercise(s) in each lesson
  • Student’s responsibility for themselves, and their partner, during training is increased
  • Circuit and station circuit training are explained; 12 training session models, with variations, are provided
